Admittance
1. Grade 10, verified by transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent {gr. 12 for B.C. students}
2. 17 years of age or older (under the age of 18 must provide a letter of parental consent)
1. Out of school for two years.
2. Successful completion of an aptitude test chosen by the school and approved by the Director, Private Institutions (Alberta Learning).
All Applicants must complete the following criteria:
1. Provide an up to date resume along with two letters of reference from a previous employer, teacher, counsellor (not family or friends)
2. In a typewritten two or three page career research essay, include the names of three people in the hairstyling vocation who you spoke to for information regarding the employment availability, advancement, wages and expectations of the employer.
3. Provide a hand written letter introducing yourself, personal reasons for choosing a career in hairstyling, long term goals and what type of learner you think you are. Explain the type of person you are (leader, follower, loner, socializer, etc.). Perhaps you have had personal experiences which would help with your explanation.
*** Verification letter of finances must be handed in two weeks prior to start date.***
The school will ensure that all students meet the above-mentioned requirements before admitting them into programs licensed under the Private Vocational Schools Act.
Any changes or amendments to these requirements will be submitted to the Private Institutions branch for approval prior to implementation.
